Wireless Drop Outs

Hi!

I seem to be having some difficulties with my new wireless system.

I’ve got the router + 2 AP6 Pro’s. One AP is connected via ethernet to the router POE Port and the other is via mesh upstairs via the Alta POE Injector.

The issue I experience is random packet loss, I’ve not been able to isolate when it occurs and how or why it occurs however the problem is getting worse.

The only way to notice is an interruption when playing an online game or streaming sport. When the issue occurs, I experience high latency to the WAP/Router for a few seconds followed by packet loss, I’m also not able to ping the gateway during the packet loss window, it is a brief interruption however it can sometimes last anywhere from 3-10 seconds before resuming.

All my settings were default; I’ve tried setting particular channels based on the scan to determine the best channel and the issue is ongoing; I’ve also tried manually setting the power/range of the WAP’s which has improved signal however the drop out continues.

I’ve tried only using a single AP via ethernet to remove the mesh from my environment and it hadn’t initially helped but setting the max power settings I was able to stay connected for roughly ~2 hours without a drop.

I then introduced the secondary AP, and the dropouts started again. If pinging from the wireless meshed AP to the main AP I did not see any dropouts/packet loss however the latency seems to increase substantially during this time where my device connection actually receives packet loss.

Moments later the connection resumes okay. Struggling to pinpoint anything, I’ve put back my old network and tested and had no issue (old Amazon Tenda Wi-Fi Mesh units)

I have also tried switching out the Alta router for my old router, same problem.

Sounds like a possible interference issue?!

Maybe something below is related. Just throwing them up here:
