First the router IP a.b.c.1 was in conflict with the Cox ONT which was weird. Then I changed the router to a.b.c.2 and it was fine until devices (20-25 of them) connect.
It seems to appear with direct connect ethernet on my switch (dumb one from Zyxel) but OUI and GPT says that for some it is a randomized MAC address.
So what’s up? Never had that with my former router.
I just had the same thing happen too.
A new device was added to the wifi network and it grabbed the same IP address that was already reserved for another device.
Not sure if is somehow caused by 1.5f but I’ve never seen this before upgrading to 1.5f.
Even though the feature originated to help switches map IP addresses, toggling it in the site-level or router profile alters how client telemetry is reconciled across your Alta Control dashboard. Forcing ARP-based IP learning purges outdated table entries that produce the visual and functional duplicate IP errors. Try it and report if you can.
Just got 3 IP conflicts, those are smart tvs. Weird as they are turned off but connected with RJ45… Alta should have a better way to clean up DHCP leases.
