Hi all,
I have a S8 POE that is randomly rebooting. I can’t seem to find anything relevant in my syslog. Where can I check to see why this might be happening? It does not happen at a specific time and it usually is a few days apart when it happens.

Do you by chance have anything stacked on it or anything? I had issues with mine before in the past because I had my router stacked on it and it was overheating, but it works fine after removing it.

And, what is the temperature reading typically before reboot?
@dalewhlrr @ebuckland81 Nothing stacked on top or below it. It is in my garage, but it has been way hotter in there in the past without an issue. I saw some commands to get temp sensor output on the CLI, but they are not working. Would love to be able to print temp output to a logfile every 30 seconds or so with a timestamp.
Sitting around 43C after reboot.

It doesn’t appear to be particularly hot, even though it might have dropped somewhat during the reboot. Do you have any readings after a while running?
Edit: All devices, like APs, Route10 and Control HW, except for the Switch(es) respond to the CLI command:
cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone/temp*
Ah, that’s why that command was not working.
I’m going to keep a closer eye on the temps over the next few days to see if it creeps up.

Traced to a faulty power outlet. I knew it couldn’t be an Alta issue.

Unfortunately have to revive this thread. One of my S8s is still randomly rebooting (just happened). I swapped the power supplies between my S8s and the issue happens on the same switch, so it’s definitely not the power supply.
I thought the outlet was losing power but I have other devices plugged in there now and they are not losing power.

Looks like both of my S8s are exhibiting the reboots again, even the one that was RMA’d for me back in December. I’ve opened a support ticket for the behavior.
