Suggesting a temperature feedback for network devices like @rutman286 suggested in a previous post:
I’d say some type of temperature history would be handy too
Wouldn’t have to be constant but recorded at certain intervals would probably be enough, although the ability to control those intervals would probably nice
I think the color indicator for temperature would be confusing, while the current detailed temperature number is distinct.
It would be better if you could choose to turn on email alert or app push for high temperature, which would say something like “The AP temperature is now over 80°C (176°F). If you notice any continual abnormal phenomenon (e.g. reboot), please contact Tech Support; otherwise, it is fine.“
That would surely do it too!
Oh God please no. I do not want to be emailed unless there IS an issue.(Specifically on an opt-in basis) Alta designed the hardware, Alta knows how warm it should be. There should not be any ambiguity. Make it exactly as @rutman286 described with 3 basic colors. Also as @jmszuch described, I would love to see a histogram as well with a drop-down for options (day, week, month, 6 months).
This is a hardware feature that should work locally first. If you want to have a check box in the settings to warn you of hardware issues, great. It can be separate from what is being asked for here. There is no reason to involve the cloud in this.
