Router release date

I had to select Feature Requests as the Router has not made it into the selectable topics

Im wondering if the Alta Router is delayed? It was “slated” for mid 2024 but now we are well into Q3 of 2024. Im getting closer and closer to going Unifi especially as they have announced some new Gateways that fit my requirements exactly… Like a lot of people I would like to go with one “flavour” of network equipment as support is much easier as there should little to no interoperability issues.

Don

I know some of the Alta team are using the new router for testing which means we are very very close to the release!

And I know Several of us here would be happy to help with that testing…

Even the specifications of the Router would help …

Give us a sneak peek…

I only have one more Ubiquiti device and that is the router/firewall.
Soon I might just order a pfsense from Netgate.

We don’t have an official release date, but should be in Q3 …

If you have any questions let us know!

I am about to replace my router (Sophos running pfSense), and I think I will do so in about the next month or so. I would hate to get a new router and then the Alta router comes out. :frowning:

I am very curious on the interface, how VLANs will come into play, if having a router will change the dashboard GUI a little, if there will be a software solution for existing hardware, if there will be a 2.5/10G option in the future (not important now since everything Alta has is 1Gb), how is the latency compared to stock pfSense (bufferbloat, jitter, etc).

When you say Q3 do you mean Q3 of the Calendar year i.e “Jul - Sept” or the financial year which in the UK here starts in April (I don’t think it is the same world wide…but I might be wrong) so Q3 here would mean “Oct - Dec”?

Hi MattH would you be in a position to update us on the progress of the Router? I cant delay my decision much longer as to which one I choose. If Im goint to wait its going to be for this High end Router

Not looking rack mount :eyes:

Is this real?

I apologize @Digitalguy but I will have to defer to the Alta staff to speak on that.

Might be showing my age here but it depends on what your definition of the word “real” is. (90’s kids will get it)

Indeed, behold the ROUTE10 everyone!
(This is not an invitation to ask about details, I still have to exercise some level of :zipper_mouth_face: until the higher ups give the :+1:t2:)
