Are we expecting a firmware update on the Control to support native 10G on the S24?

I’m assuming so since it looks like that’s been corrected in the cloud controller.

I forced the update, yesterday, by clicking arrow up next to the firmware number for each switch. So it upgraded from 2.1u to 2.3a.

Now, this morning, the Network Devices view says an update is needed again, so I forced it directly, but it downgraded to 2.1u again.

Did you revert the issued firmware from 2.3a to 2.1u due to some unforeseen major bug? Or is it some local problem to me only?

I am on the on-premises Control HW, latest firmware, 1.1c.

Thanks for the report @Beaker! We were able to replicate this, so we’ve reverted to 2.1u while we investigate further.

The update took @Beaker’s switch offline. It seems to cause an issue with a small subset of SFP+ modules, or at least the visible symptom is related. We actually had trouble replicating this one, just luckily made it happen once, but that occurrence was enough for us to make this decision, especially being the weekend.

Appreciate the quick response and roll back, @Alta-MikeD !

And while I know you guys are pretty proud of how generally stable your firmware updates are and I haven’t had an issues with them myself, I’m going to take this opportunity to again stump for the implimentation of either a testing channel for interested community members to sign sites into or perhaps more control of when exactly automatic firmware updates are applied. In fact, I may make a couple of feature requests when I have a minute on both those options…

Anyway, thanks again!

Reversion was completed this morning, and I can confirm that all is well on my end.

Thanks @Alta-MikeD and the rest of the Alta team for the quick mitigation.
