Is it possible to “pre program” a site and then adopt the devices once ready for install?
No, there isn’t a way to pre-provision a site at this time.
There is some support for this. You can configure anything about a site from the dashboard, except individual device parameters that would be tied to the MAC address of the hardware you’re adopting. For example, you can prepare the entire wireless network design without any access points on hand, but you cannot adjust the individual AP settings until it is adopted.
You could potentially adopt the devices on a lab network to prepare them, then use the Move feature to transfer them. I am not exactly certain about how effective this trick is yet.

As a test, I went in and built a site and configured parameters for several VLANS and wiFi networks. I then connected the gear to the network, plugged in and once it popped up in the controller, I hit set up and was able to get the entire network up, running and updated in about 15 min. So you can preprogram VLANS and WiFi networks and just “adopt” onsite.

Doesn’t actually work though. Just throws an error “Please enter a valid serial number.”
Double check how much of the serial number you are adding… it’s weird you have to add a LOT. There is a YouTube video about it on their channel
That must be it. Looks like those of us with “older” purchased devices won’t be able to use this feature.

Yeah they changed the serial numbers on newer shipments so you can only do newer ones.
