Couple days now with no issues to report.

Looking good @Alta-MikeD . The accuracy looks great. It also appears to have sorted the issue with vlans switching as per the post VLANs Switching on Route 10 Devices page. Will report back on stability but so far so good! Thanks Team Alta!

Still running 1.4g-rc4 from 6 days ago. Anything newer we should be trying yet?

@submersed @aks-security I’ll reach out via DM shortly.

@rutman286 great question! I can tell you that 1.4g-rc5 is fresh off the press, fixing some crashes. Anyone who’d like to upgrade to it is welcome to. It’s manual though.

So given that it’s a manual process, I’d need to be re-invited again. I don’t mind, if you don’t mind, and this applies to anyone who I previously helped. If you already have my email, it’s fair game just to send the invite. It’s Friday evening so there may be some slight delays before I get to each request, but I’ll try to do them as timely as possible with a heads up DM a minute before the upgrade, like last time. Once the upgrade is complete I’ll leave your site.

Just wanted to chime in and say thanks, Mike! The 1.4g-rc4 firmware has been running without issue (at least any I could identify) at my site so far, so I’ll happily shoot you an invite to upgrade to the next version. Whenever you have time, as it is Friday of course.

Thanks again!

@Alta-MikeD re- adding you to my site for latest update

Just wanted to give kudos for doing a beta. Also would encourage as a part of getting the Route 10 into a more mature state, formalizing your beta strategy. Maybe a beta channel? I’m not personally interested enough in DPI to want to try out this beta, but I might very well be willing to try out others.

Howdy @Alta-MikeD , just wanted to chime in with a couple of potentially odd behaviors I noticed after the most recent firmware upgrade! Nothing ultra critical but I wanted to make sure I reported what I spotted.

First thing is that I’m not sure if CAKE is functioning properly. I’ve had it set to the following bandwidth limits since the introduction of the feature:

with hardware acceleration enabled by default

And I’ve generally been able to hit those speeds without issue when running various speedtests. Now I can’t seem to make it much pass 100-150Mbps on the download rate when running a speedtest from a device wired into the network. For example:

Second issue would be I noticed that the temperature of the router seems to be reporting a bit lower than previous:

I don’t recall precisely what the temperature was before, but I can definitely say it was higher than freezing. Router also hasn’t physically moved at all and the temp has only been going higher in my neck of the woods

Otherwise, no issues to report with DPI so far. Seems to be working just the same for me as the previous release candidate, which is to say without any problems.

Fwiw i have no issues maxing my 300mbps connection on rc5 (i dont use cake) and the temp is reporting 110f.

My temp is also reporting 32F on my route10

Have either of you rebooted after the firmware upgrade?

I have now. Temperature is reporting correctly again.

Haven’t rebooted it yet, although based on what @rutman286 mentioned that will likely take care of the issue. It isn’t super important to me that it reports the correct temperature right this second though

I did decide to go rooting around in the terminal and found these lines in dmesg:
