Not to give @Alta-Jeff too hard a time but he tenatively approved that sort of request in the last Alta Labs Live

I considered making a thread just for myself and others to request beta firmware to test but unfortunatley have been lacking in time as of late

I would love that opportunity if possible please.

Thanks!! Glad to see the excitement. Unfortunately I don’t know the exact details for public use yet, but either myself or Jeff will follow up as soon as possible. He’s been travelling around the world, so I expect there to be a bit of delay before I hear back.

Anyone else reading this thread, feel free to add your voice if you’re interested, it’ll be easiest to track it here in the topic (at least for now).

@rutman286 @DN3092 @jmszuch DMs going out. I need to be invited to your site to perform the firmware upgrade on the Route10. We also need to disable auto updates, whether you do that or I do that, doesn’t matter, that is just so that it doesn’t revert to 1.4f over night.

I’ll be up until around 23:00 EDT tonight. If you send the invite tonight before then, I’ll try to run it within minutes of it coming in. I will also send a DM as I’m going on to run the upgrade, so you at least know to expect it shortly.

EDIT: Oh, I didn’t ask earlier, it’s possible support may be cloud side only for now. Checking if that’s the case and I’ll make a new post once I know.

I have the test firmware installed. It is such a welcome sight to see DPI data on wired devices finally!! I will report back if I see anything weird, but so far so amazing.

I would love to test this out too!

To confirm, we’re looking for basic stability and accuracy testing so this should be straight forward. Please note that inter-VLAN and WAN is analyzed, intra-VLAN is not/cannot.

EDIT: For those interested, wired blocking is not yet available, but it will be coming.

EDIT2: Mobile app support is pending as of 06/01/25. That said, the web app in your mobile browser would show that data if you needed to access it from your phone or tablet in the interim.

So far from my testing yesterday and today accuracy looks as good as the WiFi DPI.

Just had the upgrade and accuracy looks great. Will report back on stability but so far so good! Thanks!

PS. Statistics don’t appear to be visible via the mobile app yet but everything looks good via web browser.

Glad to hear! No problem!

Good observation. Sorry I didn’t mention that in my post earlier—mobile app support is pending. However the web app (via the mobile browser) would work if you really wanted to view it on your phone or tablet in the interim.
