Customizable LAN IP Configuration During Initial Setup

Why It’s Needed:
Currently, the initial web setup wizard for the Route10 router focuses primarily on WAN settings, such as selecting the WAN port and connection type. However, there’s no option to customize the LAN IP range and subnet during this step.

This limitation often creates unnecessary hurdles for users integrating the router into existing networks or using non-default subnets (e.g., 10.0.x.x instead of 192.168.x.x).

Proposed Improvement:

Enable LAN IP Customization in the Web Setup Wizard by adding the following options:

  1. Custom LAN IP and Subnet:
  • Allow users to specify a custom LAN IP range and subnet (e.g., 10.0.0.1/24).
  1. DHCP Configuration:
  • Enable users to configure DHCP settings, including start and end IP ranges, during the wizard.
  1. Persistent Changes:
  • Ensure changes applied during the setup are saved immediately and persist after reboots.

How This Helps:

  • Simplifies Integration: Users can configure the router to match their existing network during setup, avoiding conflicts.
  • Reduces Mobile App Dependence: By including these features in the web wizard, users won’t need the mobile app for basic configuration changes later.
  • Enhances User Experience: Streamlines the setup process, especially for advanced users with customized networks.
