AP Firmware 2.4f Released

This firmware update improves filtering reliability across a wider range of network environments and includes additional security hardening at the system level.

  • Resolve issues with WiFi filters on open/EAP networks.
  • Apply Linux dirty-frag security patch, out of additional caution.

NOTE: While we have been unable to exploit the dirty frag vulnerability on prior firmware releases internally, we have patched the kernel to ensure that it is not possible.

This update is being rolled out now. You can manually initiate the upgrade if you’d like, or it will automatically update overnight (if auto-updates are enabled). The complete, up-to-date change log is available here:

As always, if you have questions or encounter any issues, feel free to reply here or start a new topic. Please include details about the issue so we can assist you effectively.

We updated the APs on a customer with multiple open networks and the AP stopped broadcasting the network until you put a password on it.

same issue here, client wth seriously lots of APs got 100% on all bands. solution was to add a network with a password.

Very sorry to hear, and thank you for raising the reports. This is an acknowledgement. We will follow up shortly.

EDIT: Issue found. Hotfix will start building shortly.

Just wanted to add that my Enterprise RADIUS network was wiped out. Password networks fine. I don’t use a non-password network but wanted to mention as I don’t think it was mentioned yet.

The fix is live, 2.4g. I’ll be getting the notes up in a moment in a new post.
