Why does Route 10 says its disconnected when the internet is working?

Hi everyone hope all’s well. I managed to get my Route 10 back up and running thanks to a problem outside of my apartment that even the ISP didn’t know about and couldn’t detect. I re-ran the intial setup to configure the WAN.

However, in the Alta Labs manager it says Status: Disconnected and has no network activity, even though my internet is now working through the router.

Can anyone please guide me on how I get the Alta Labs manager to detect the router as connected?

It will be because the control software is disconnected from the router. You can reset the route10 and it should ask if you want to restore the device or start from scratch. (Make sure the settings are correct for the WAN etc)

When I reboot and reset the router (hold down reset for 10 secs until it starts flashing green) I then go to 192.168.1.1 and it gives me this screen (same as before) .

I then go through the setup and it takes me back to that screen

I go to https://manage.alta.inc/ and its the same disconnected message:

How do I get past this?

From the photos it appears you’re managing your site via Alta’s cloud.

Try adding a new “Site”, and migrate your Route10 to that new site to see if this clears any gremlins.

The only configuration you should be modifying on the new site is your WAN connection if need be. Leave everything else set to default for the time being.

For clarity, it is not required to delete the original site. A reset will disconnect it from the site and require Setup again, which is enough to enable you to add the equipment to a new blank site.

Let us know if you see the issue persist.

Hi Josh but as I wrote above, I tried this reset and tried to set it up again and didn’t get anywhere. Does the set up have to be done with the phone? Id appreciate some more specifics instructions that I can refer to.

The setup wizard provides the most specific instructions already.

Can you confirm that the issue persists under a new, blank site with no configuration applied? Just click Setup without even using the setup wizard and start testing connectivity again.

Hi Josh I did the setup by going to the IP of the router with the screenshots I posted above. Can you please give a little more specific instruction to exactly where this setup is (if different to what I posted above), or point me to which documentation I should be following?

Basically I cannot seem to replicate the very first setup I did.

Please just use the Setup button in the management platform under the Network tab, from a new blank site.

Oh wow thats really funny… seems like there is a scaling bug in the Alta Labs interface in Chrome where when I have a browser window open (containing Alta Manager), in only the right half of the screen (I usually have two browser windows open side by side), the purple “Setup” button was completely hidden. I then maximised the browser window and all of a sudden the purple setup button appeared next to the disconnected marker. This was 100% repeatable until I completed the setup and now the button is of course no longer there.

Now everything appears to be registering properly and I will monitor over the next few days. many thanks.
