Why do you care about the device temperature shown on Controller?

Let’s talk about it.

For me, low device temperature would make me feel optimistic about longer device life and I want to take the initiative to control the temperature. :joy:

I think having the temperature recorded and logged is worthwhile on any of the appliances  Just another data point to add to the collection of what to look at and monitor in case something does’t act right.

Hey Net.

Sure, low temperature on devices is great for long term performance but as I’ve seen so far with Alta Labs even when temperatures stay around 65-70c for the AP6-PRO the device is running exactly the same as if I had it in lower temperature (for example by lowering the main room degrees with an AC).

Alta did a good job with the soldering of the CPU and components, therefore in my experience so far after over 1 year of continuously using their devices in Spain where it gets super hot, I have not reported any performance issues from any of their devices. Yes, they do run hot and it was my concern when I tried Alta for the first time in early 2024, but I can say that will not affect their long term performance or device life.

That’s my 10 cents so far!

Have a good day,

Jorge

I think it’s important as a data point. It helps in troubleshooting and spikes are important to note. But it’s not something imo to really focus on.

For me, probably I have fobia with far too many instances of irrational application that caused high CPU run time, that in turn made appliance or machine running at high temperature, so it’s habitual to periodically looking at the numbers just to know the devices are normal, for info, I also have CPU monitor running on my desktop for my CPU and motherboard temperature readings :joy:
