Hi
as the topic says what is the best selling points for Alta.
I’m working for a distribution company that are looking into Alta and wanted to know what makes Alta, Alta
I am sure someone at Alta can respond but it IMHO it’s simplicity with a twist.
If you want to just plug them in and go you can, if you want to segregate the network in the most Simplistic way, IOT, Guest, Multi-pass etc. (in my view, absolute killer feature for small business that don’t have mass budget) you can with little to no IT knowledge (no need to mess around with VLANS etc.) and no expensive extra equipment needed.
The twist being that you can tweak a few knobs and buttons if you so desire etc. it’s not Simple to the point of being not configurable for those that want that option.
Also being the fastest AP I have used with fantastic range doesn’t hurt either.
I really hope someone from Alta chimes in here. They have been quiet lately. I have an interesting observations to make here though.
- The way Alta has designed their APs, you get a lot of high end benefits without having to replace everything in your current ecosystem. Take AltaPass for example. You can put in JUST Alta APs, and completely transform your hospitality WiFi. Pairing down to a single SSID can have a huge positive impact on both management, and WiFi speeds. You also get some filtering, and granular scheduling built in. DPI is built right in as well, You can get a lot of client information right from the APs.
- Having 3 options for running your controller is a bonus as well. You can use their cloud controller which is FREE. If you want something local, then you can pick between running it yourself or you can purchase their hardware controller. Having the choice, I think, is a huge selling point.
- From my personal experience thus far, their equipment is FAST. Very fast. They put a lot of time into the design of both the hardware and software design of their APs. You will find a lot of folks commenting about the speed and range of the APs, and I agree.
Hopefully that helps. @Alta-Matt_v2 @Alta-Chase do you have anything you can add?
It’s a fairly contextual question, but as a blanket answer:
- Simplicity - Very plug and play as @user19 suggests
- WiFi7 speeds without being WiFi7 (yet), we have 4096QAM so you can achieve 1gbps true throughput over WiFi
- AltaPass is a game changer. Dynamic VLAN assignment, download/upload limitations, filtering, hotspot, scheduling all based on what password a user enters with only 1 SSID
Bonus Point - Our tech support is highly regarded in the industry. I don’t think I’ve seen any bad comments about the tech support.
