Unifi protect behind route 10

Hi there

Just wondering if anyone has a sample config of how to do this since would like to use the route 10 as the router but using unifi protect behind it and I do have the controller for protect set up on a cloudkey with network running off a Unifi Express 7. Assuming this works as intended would I simply just need a VLAN for all of this or would I need to eliminate the express 7 and just use the route 10 as primary then cloud key+ running protect and that should be good?

Slowly moving over from unifi but I did see some Reddit posts about people using unifi gear behind the route 10 just not 100% sure what to do for my setup.

You can use the Express 7 in AP mode. You need to run the controller on the CK and adopt it that way. Otherwise it will want to be the gateway. Personally I would get the AP6 and keep the network all Alta but you can mix and match brands if you are willing to deal with both management environments.

Otherwise you can run Protect on the CK and there’s not much else to it. Personally I don’t see a need to vlan Protect off in a home environment under most situations.

Thanks

Seems simple enough then to just uninstall protect and let the route 10 be the router. I am mostly trying to reuse what I have first before deciding what to swap out and wasn’t sure if protect needed the network app to run DHCP and discover cameras.
