Unless I’m missing something, one cannot unassign “Black” in replacement for another color group. Please advise.
Example: I’d like to assign the blue color group to only one specific AP with one broadcasted WIFI SSID/network associated. I would not like for it to broadcast the black (all AP’s) group. Each time I attempt to delete the black group to maintain only blue, it continues to populate the black and blue color group.
Alta AP6W - Firmware 2.2m
Route10 - Firmware 1.4h
Alta Control - Firmware 1.1f
Browser: Chrome Version 138.0.7204.169 (Official Build) (64-bit)
I can confirm the same behavior when using any browser on my laptop. Ironically I AM able to remove black when using the iPhone Alta app. I do not have an Android to test the Android app.
@rutman286 Are you sure you don’t mean you are removing them from the SSID? That is allowed; just removing from the APs is not allowed. I cannot remove the Black color from APs here.
@Beaker We have AltaPass working with many VLANs in many sites, so there must be something different about your config that we need to understand. Do you have any switches in between the AP and the Router that might not have VLAN40 defined on them?
This is only somewhat related to the topic at hand, but in a scenario like this @Alta-Jeff where @Beaker resolved the problem by removing and re-adding the network config, is there any information that could be gathered from the controller or associated devices that would help further debug what might have been causing a problem? In my head I’m picturing something akin to a support tool or script that could be run or even something more manual as well.
Glad that basically a reset and reboot fixed it, but I think we’d be happy to try and gather up anything that could help identify a root cause as well. Thanks!
I followed the suggestion above. Nothing more, nothing less. Unless something got hosed during the coloration process, or this might be related to just the AP6W. I cannot say. It’s working now, so clearly either I finger-fudged or something got hosed within the config.
