Troubleshooting ports - S24-POE

Hey everyone,

Hoping someone might be able to shed some light on a problem I’m having with my Alta Labs S24-POE Switch.

Specifically, I’m having trouble getting SFP+ port 26 to work. I’ve tried different SFP+ modules and cables, but nothing seems to do the trick. The same cables, transceivers that work in port 25, don’t work in port 26.

I’ve gone through basic troubleshooting steps, but I’m wondering if there are any lower-level debugging options or more detailed logs available for this switch somehow? I’m hoping to find some clues about what’s going on with this port.

Has anyone else run into this issue or have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot further?

Hey, you might be able to see logs in /var/log/messages you can either SSH into the device or if you shift click the name of the device on the network page. Then enter tail -f /var/log/messages then put the SFP+ transceiver in to see if anything gets logged. Please bare in mind this might not be correct as I don’t have the S24 :slight_smile:
