Those transfer speeds tho!

I’m in the middle of a “transfer wizard” file migration between two MacBook laptops… I have never had WiFi at home that sustained those kinds of speeds. This has been going for over an hour at this point, along with all of my regular WiFi activities. Not a hiccup or issue to be seen. I should also mention, one laptop has damaged ports, so this speed is over WiFi!

thoses laptops (macbook) are Wifi 6 or you got a Wifi 7 mac ?

They’re WiFi 6 Macs. After a few bursts like that, they settled down to about 750Mbps.

Pretty Impressive! Mine turn around of 750-900 mb/s while doing a local speed test but this is over a short period. It’s nice to see that over a longer period.

That’s mental! Fancy doing iperf3 between them?

I’ll do you one better WhyAydan. How about from my personal laptop on VLAN 10 on a wired connection, to my work laptop on VLAN 30 on a WiFi connection. Command run was iperf3 -c xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. -P8 -t 30

[SUM] 0.00-30.00 sec 2.38 GBytes 680 Mbits/sec sender
[SUM] 0.00-30.02 sec 2.37 GBytes 677 Mbits/sec receiver

make some adjustments to my crappy usb-c to gigabit ethernet adapter and ran same test again.

Holy shit! That’s insane I love it!

It was with iperf but since it is a self-hosted version. I find that pretty impressive over Wi-Fi 6 with my MacBook.
