Hello alta team,
I’m worried that my devices might catch fire because of the temperature. I live in Burkina Faso, a Sahelian country where the ambient temperature ranges from 23°C to 41°C. Here are the temperatures of my two devices:
Currently, we are in a cooler period, but when the hot season arrives, will my devices catch fire, or will some components burn out over time due to the heat? This is especially concerning for the access point, which reaches up to 86°C, and the router, which reaches up to 66°C.
During periods of extreme heat, when the ambient temperature can reach 45°C or higher, will my devices be able to withstand it?
I’m afraid my devices might catch fire because of the temperature.
Don’t worry, just live your life, The Device will shutdown if it overheats, so it won’t melt. 23c to 41C is within operating temperature of the devices, so I wouldn’t worry about it. The AP6 Pro does run hotter than the Route 10. If you are still worried, buy a large heatsink and put it on the bottom of the Route 10 with thermal pads. Generally the hotter a device runs the shorter its life span, but the change is so small it will probably be obsolete before it dies, For Example: AMD GPUs are known to get as hot as 100C and they are fine
Wow, 100°C! I wanted to put the router on an heatsink, but with the configuration, I had to mount it on the wall using the access point. I’ll keep using it. Also, I received the alert more than three times that my devices were no longer detected. Maybe it was because of the temperature that it shut down. For a moment, I thought it might be a power outage or a loss of connection from my ISP.
