As a point of clarification, the AP7-Pro ships does not ship with this mount. Rather, it ships with a metal mount.

Is the metal mount for the AP7-Pro available to buy as a single item or is just bundled with the AP? Also would like to know if the 7 is just heavier and requires the metal or are you going to metal on all your APs?

Long term, yes. The metal mount will be an individual accessory. We are in the process of refining it even further. Once its exactly where we want it, we will start introducing it as an a-la-carte item.
As for why we introduced the metal mount over plastic, the AP7-Pro is certainly heavier, but it remains compatible with both the plastic mount from the AP6 and AP6-Pro, as well as the metal mount included with the AP7-Pro. The primary reason for the metal mount was the plastic mount was easy to deform by over tightening it on an uneven surface.
