Howdy! Just spotted this in the controller when setting up a new site today:
I imagine this will get mentioned in the release notes of an upcoming controller update, but I figured I’d just ask now about it’s purpose. if it’s just to get a better idea of where equipment is deployed or if it’s intended to do something more?

Seeing as it has a “Prefer not to say”, I bet you it is literally a survey for them to try to figure out their customer base. This seems like something that really should be called out in release notes the day it is added.
Why not just Private?

Heh, that was kind of my assumption as well. To be clear, I don’t really mind one way or the other. I just like to ask the what and why if something new suddenly pops up. Preferably before it pops up 
Eh, I’ve noticed that’s become a more common way of phrashing on forms, applications, etc for questions that could be considered personal or private. So yeah, the DMV might fit lol
