S8 POE Feedback

I was wondering if anyone has been using S8 POE Switch and what their experience has been. I currently have net gear POE unmanaged switch. I want to replace it with managed switch to get better visibility. My AP6 Pros have been excellent for me. Is S8 POE reliable?

I have two of them I have been using since before they were shipping. They have both been perfectly reliable for me. I have had no issues with them. They are easy to configure, boot fast and are nice a quiet.

I have a few out in the world so far with no complaints, along with a few of their bigger brothers

I just installed the S8 POE switch. It is providing POE connection to my AP6 Pro. So I am assuming that it is working.

In the cloud based management console it shows no devices connected to the switch. At the very least should it show 1 device connected?

The firmware is now updated to version 2.3b

The temperature is 101.8. Is this an expected temperature?

System load is 25%, memory used 57%.

Definitely should show the AP as connected. For example:

That’s an AP6 circled there and it’s connected to an S8 POE switch.

Depending on when the switch was manufactured I’ve seen there can be an additional update for the PoE functionality specifically. Which I think it should prompt you about but if not I’ve usually seen it by clicking on the switch, going to the settings, and clicking advanced.

Otherwise that temperature and system load sound pretty normal to me. I believe it’s the temp of the SoC inside the switch is what’s being read, which doesn’t necessarily translate into how hot the switch as a whole is.

In the web based console I can go to the network tab it shows me my three AP6 Pros and one POE. On this screen it shows connected devices. This is where is shows nothing for connected devices for POE.

In iPhone app I do see similar image for my POE.
So I will stop worrying about it.

I would say those are normal numbers, from my own experience.
