Is anyone out there using Altalabs S24 switches in the AV industry and using AV over IP setups ? I’m working on a video BUT also implemented this in the house.
Using the S24 with a Dedicated Vlan for Orei ToVi setup with 4 Encoders & 4 Decoders & one control hub, all on a dedicated Vlan. When using Unicast the system works awesome. BUT as soon as i turn on Multicast the system lags very badly. If If i enable IGMP i loose all connectivity and video between the units.
The provider says I “should” be using a Layer 3 system with IGMP enabled. Even though the devices are 10/100.
Morning Jeff, I am using 4 ToVi 10/100 x1h-kvm-erx units and 4 x 10/100 x1h-kvm-etx units along with their x1h-cb controller.
I actually had some time last night to swap out the S24 switch and install the S48 switch, tag 10 ports on the s48 from 1-10 plugged in the units and enabled Multicast and its all working. As soon as I enable IGMP the data strem stops and all units stop talking to each other. I also sent the video to you in a pm.
Happy to talk with support and do more testing, has to be in evening when family isn’t using the equipment though or on a work from home day.
The multicast acceleration hardware is exactly the same in the S24-POE and S48-APOE switches, so we’re trying to understand what configuration changes there could be between your two setups that would be causing this issue. We’re also looking into obtaining the Orei hardware so we can reproduce the issue in our labs.
