Route10 Slow Performance when going from 1gbit to 10gbit ports

Hello,

I recently picked up a Route10 to play with. I noticed when I am on 1gbit port with route10 using WAN2 (SFP+ with 10Base-SR link), I only seem to get ~350mbit downstream but upstream is full gigabit. But when I sit off the other SFP+ port, i get full 10gbit.

device > 1gbit link to port 2> sfp+ (wan2) link to another switch = ~350mbit downstream, doesnt matter if i test via internet iperf3 or simple cifs transfer, all max out around 350mbit-500mbit (downstream).

device > 10gbit link to sfp+ (lan) > sfp+ (wan2) link to another switch = 10gbps (bi directionally)

Edit additional info:
if I try 1gbit port to 1gbit port, i get 1gbps.
If i try 1gbit port to lan sfp+ I get 1gbps in one direction, 500mbit in the other (lan1gbps < lan10gbps is similar results to lan1gbps <> wan10gbps. )

Do your tests have the same results if you switch around the SFP+ ports, or use different ethernet ports?

Just verified, yes the slow path always seems to be 10GBE feeding a 1GBE port - I also added Alta’s 8 port switch onto a 1gbit port, AP, etc they all exhibit same slow pattern.

Additional discovery, if I run flow control on for tx/rx on upstream switch linked to wan2 (sfp+) or lan sfp+, I no longer get sub 1gbe speeds, everything tests normally…

The issue with this is when I plug into internet dmark, I wont be able to turn on flow control on upstream device ISP controls.
