Route10 routing capabilities

What are the routing expectations and capabilities of the Route10 when used with KPN Superfiber (4 Gbps) over a PPPoE connection?

KPN Superfiber comes with a NTU offering a 10GbE. So I must install a SFP+ 10GBe module, what would be a preferred choice (brand/ type)?

Welcome to the community @Pearce ! We have designed the Alta Labs switches to work with most, if not all, SFP modules and DACs. We have tested with most major manufacturers and have yet to find an SFP modules that does not work. That being said, if someone has found a SFP or DAC that does not work, we would love to hear about it.

We have definitely seen more issues with the 10Gtek transceivers than other brands like FS or UI. Some 10 Gtek transceivers work great, and others are spotty. I would try another transceiver (even another 10 Gtek one due to their low cost…), or spend a little more for a different brand.

i`m using it with a XGS-PON 10Gbps fiber connection via a no-name SFP+ from aliexpress, ISP is Digi Romania.

by design PPPoE connection have overhead and FEC, so i get around about 8.2Gbps … more or less
