I’m attempting to add the Route10 to my current network. My current setup is wan(modem)>pfsense box>Route10>S8>Ap6pro. When I cannot my router it gets a default ip 192.xxxxxx making everything behind the router 192.xxxxx. I need pfsense to handle DHCP and vLANS how do I configure the router to receive an ip from my current range which is 13.66.6.xxx. On pfsense I configured the port as Lan with a gateway of 13.66.6.1. When I connected that port to the S8 DHCP worked properly.
Have you tried setting a WAN IP for the port on the Alta router?
No, where exactly would I find that. I’m looking at the router settings and don’t see anything that mentions Ip.
Click the port that is connected to your other router you should see a router IP box
I found it by clicking the pencil to change the vlan default port I set the ip there and it changed. But now my switch and ap doesn’t have a connection.
Try to connect over a different interface to fix the VLAN and set it back to the working configuration from earlier. VLAN 1 should generally never be changed unless you already know exactly what change you’re trying to make on VLAN 1 and why you need it. Otherwise, the defaults should stay, and you should create new VLANs if you need more advanced networking.
You may need to delete the Route10 from your site with the trash icon on the network tab, and then power-on reset by holding the reset button then plugging in the power and release the reset button after the logo begins glowing. This should take a couple of minutes and you will need to visit 192.168.1.1
or 192.168.0.1
on the LAN to begin configuring it with the setup wizard.
For future reference, @Techout was explaining that you could click the WAN1 interface directly in the Route10 configuration pane instead. From there, you can edit the WAN1abcd
connection manually.
