post reboot, SFP on LAN port did not come online, i had to remove the SFP and reinsert it back! then it worked OK. Other than that no issues so far!
Can you share:
- The make/model of the SFP plugged into the Route10
- The make/model of the SFP on the other end of that link (if different)
- The make/model of the device on the other end of that link
Here you go! They are Juniper branded SFP 1Gbps
SFP Make: Methode Elec.
OUI: 000000
Model: SP7041-M1-JNRev: -
Serial: B163168
Date: 11041901
like this one
On the other side i have another device (TPLINK AX11000) connected via RJ45
Thank you!
I’m double checking, but I don’t think that’s an officially supported SFP. It’s coded for Juniper so typically, it would only be expected to work in a normal function within a Juniper device. I’ll respond here when I get some more information.
I have to ask, why burn a SFP+ interface on a 1gbps copper SFP? Are all the other copper interfaces on the Route10 already taken?
Yeah all the other ports are occupied! and i did not want to add another switch just for one port! SFP has been running fine last two weeks or so!
It is just with the last update i noticed the port did not came back online so i had unplug and plug it back then it worked again!
Appreciate it if you could check the support level or recommend another supported one!
thank you!
Ok, fair enough.
We’re not seeing any particular compatibility concerns. Looks like we’re going to purchase one to test.
In the meantime, you could try forcing the speed of that interface if you haven’t already.
As you may have noticed, I moved this report to its own thread so it’s easier to follow/troubleshoot
OK will do a few more test over the weekend and let you know!
I will perform a reboot twice and observe it then set speed limit! SFP is 1Gbps but Tplink device interface is 2.5Gbps perhaps speed negotiation etc may play a factor here! I will let you know!
thank you!
Yes, agreed, if possible set the link speed on the TP-Link as well.
OK Here is my test:
1- I rebooted Route 10, it came back SFP was visible on the port but link was down!
2- Set the speed limit to 1Gbps and the link came back online
3- Rebooted the Route 10 again and it came back online as expected (link speed still set to 1Gbps)
Let me know if you need anything else!
