Route10 Firmware 1.4t Released!

This release expands firewall functionality, strengthens network protection, and improves multi-WAN performance.

  • Add support for firewall IP and port groups.
  • Add support for IDS/IPS inline mode (Settings->Firewall->Intrusion Prevention), to block threats immediately.
  • Improve Multi-WAN handling.

This update is being rolled out now. You can manually initiate the upgrade if you’d like, or it will automatically update overnight (if auto-updates are enabled). The complete, up-to-date changelog is available here:

Thank you for adding IP and Port Groups. That is a very helpful addition.

I also spotted that @Alta-cmb happened to post this in the Alta Labs Reddit regarding features that are coming up after this nice little update

Thanks! Lot more good stuff is on the way too. Firewall groups and inline IPS just launched this week. Policy routing is in review and will be coming soon. I just finished hostname and wildcard domain support in firewall groups (for use with firewall rules, NAT, and PBR) today, coming soon. Many great things you can’t see as well, like always-expanding automated testing. As well as much more to come this year.

Any plans to update the local controller? You have been pushing new features only for users on the cloud console; the local one is still on 1.1p and not able to use those features.

According to @Alta-Jeff in the latest live stream they’re hoping to have a local controller update out by the end of the week
