The latest firmware update for Route10 brings the following enhancement:
Improve WireGuard initial setup
This update is being rolled out now. You can manually initiate the upgrade if you’d like, or it will automatically update overnight (if auto-updates are enabled). The complete, up-to-date changelog is available here:
As always, if you have questions or encounter any issues, feel free to reply here or start a new topic. Please include details about the issue so we can assist you effectively.
The QR code comes from the individual user area. You click on Route10, Click on Auth, click on the user in question, and click on the “Show” button to the right on WireGuard. At the moment you can only get access to the QR code. We are hoping profile download comes soon.
If you scan the QR code to your phone for example, you can export the tunnel as a config file. I’ve uploaded it successfully to a windows wireguard client and Linux client.
I woke up to my Route10 down and a warning email that it went down about the same time this firmware was pushed or 4 hours ago. It’s now on 1.3q and updated automatically and didn’t come back up.
In addition my computer was only negotiating 10Mb with the router and I had to physically reconnect the cable in the router to get back to working normally.
I’ll be updating manually from now on because I’d hate for this to happen while I’m out of the country and lose access to my server and PC as I rely on them a lot remotely.
It’s great that Wireguard has been added now but would it be possible for future firmware update posts to mention if it’s only available to certain controllers at the time of release please?
As mentioned in this thread, Wireguard isn’t in self-hosted local controllers yet (well not mine at least).
How do these updates tie in with the controller though? There haven’t been any updates according to the release notes for the cloud or on-premise controller? I’m assuming the cloud controller is updated on a more rolling basis compared to the local controller?
