I played with the new Route10 and it is a nice device full of features for such a small form factor at this price range, I think that it is hard to beat, but I faced 2 problems.
I had a problem with the route10. I tried connecting a DAC SFP+ 10gig cable, but the Route10 and the 24-port switch didn’t detect it. It used to work well between my pfSense and the switch 10gb but didn’t work with the route10. When I wanted to force the speed connection to 10gb, It didn’t show 10gb only 1gb and lower…
Did someone face that problem ??
I also tested the PPPOE configuration since I’m with Bell. My concern with this device was the PPPOE speed since I moved out from Unifi because I had a slower WAN speed (400mb/s) when I had a fiber 1 GB plan. I asked about the PPPOE speed in the Route10 live Q&A, and the speed wasn’t supposed to be an issue, but I was unable to reach a higher than 500-550 mb/s.
Anyone on this one too ??
