Route 10 DNS location

Hello! Where should put the DNS servers in the route 10 configuration? Should it go on the VLAN side or on the WAN side. I see two location where I can add DNS servers to override my ISPs DNS.

Thanks!

DNS servers entered into the the VLAN settings should be assigned to directly to clients on the network via DHCP, whereas DNS servers entered into the WAN settings would be used by the router, I believe.

So the WAN setting would probably be what you want if you don’t want the router using your ISP DNS servers

Hmmmm. Has the ability to add DNS settings for IPV6 been added yet? I have searched the forums and found a post that states it will be added at a later date. This was in 2024.

I am setting up an Adguard Home Docker on my unraid server. I have added the IPV4 IP on the VLAN side and works fine. Not sure if this works for IPV6 yet?

If you add an IPv6 DNS server to the comma-delimited list of static DNS servers, Route10 will serve up that IP for IPv6 DNS server(s).

Where do I add this? WAN or VLAN side?

Either/both.
