I’m a bit new to Alta labs products. I have an Alta Route 10 router, Alta 16 port POE switch, and AP6 Pro. One thing I noticed that whenever I have a power outage, the route 10 does not reset/boot normally. I cannot access it via app. The only thing I found that works is to manually power cycle it once more. Is there a setting for the router to boot or power on to last state? Thanks in advance!
Welcome to the community! Sorry to hear about your issue. It’s definitely not normal or expected.
So presumably the Route10 isn’t just disconnected from management, it’s actually not passing traffic/functional when it initially restores after a power outage, correct? Are you using an SFP port for your primary WAN? If so, what make and model of module are you using? Have you tried changing any settings to adjust behaviour or only what’s already mentioned?
There is no setting for it to boot to last state, so you aren’t missing anything—it should just boot and load its config and start passing traffic automatically after an unexpected power loss event.
I am not using an SFP port for the primary WAN. I am just using a Cat8 ethernet cable. The router is receiving power and LEDs are blinking like they are sending/receiving some data, but none of my devices can connect to the Internet. Thank you for the reply.
how do you fix the issue? do you reboot it again?
Yes, I would have to power cycle the router. It seems like the router does not boot properly once power is restored.
Back up & Restore is the way.
I just had a power loss. Same thing. No internet. Had to manually power cycle the Route 10 for a proper boot.
Do you have the WAN interface on your Route10 configured to Default or Auto?
I don’t know. Probably “Default” if that’s the default setting? Like my OP, I’m rather new to these products.
What speed/rate is your ISP providing you?
1Gbps
