Request for Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) Feature on Alta Route10

I recently transitioned to the Alta Route10 and use Omada APs for my home network setup. While I’m impressed with the overall performance, I’ve encountered a challenge that’s critical for me.

Previously, on Firewalla, I relied on Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) to monitor and manage internet usage, especially for my kids. This functionality allowed me to ensure responsible internet use and maintain control over the network. Unfortunately, I cannot replicate this with the current setup, and it has become a significant gap in my network management.

This feature is urgent from my perspective and would be incredibly beneficial for many users like me who need advanced monitoring capabilities. Could this be considered for implementation?

Thank you for your attention to this request!

I’m currently a UniFi user, looking for a replacement. I really want to try Alta, but this feature is essential for me as well. Is there any roadmap?

Implimented for the Route10 as of July 3rd in firmware version 1.4g

The datasheet for the Route10 contains a pretty complete list of features including a couple that are being worked on still:

Hope that helps!
