I have configured our Alta access points to use an Enterprise Wi-Fi setup with a FreeRADIUS server and the daloRADIUS GUI. The connection between the APs and the RADIUS server is working fine, but there are still some issues and I would like your guidance on how to solve them.
The problem is mainly related to the AAA services — authentication, authorization, and accounting. For example, the Alta access points are not sending the client devices’ IP address information to the daloRADIUS GUI, so I cannot see the users’ IP details. Only the NAS IP of the connected AP is visible in daloRADIUS.
In addition, when I try to limit the number of devices per Wi-Fi user account, it does not work as expected. I suspect that the Alta access points are not sending some of the required accounting attributes or session information to the RADIUS server.
I also want to apply user-based bandwidth shaping, but that feature is not working properly either.
Please advise how I can configure this correctly or what changes are needed on the Alta access points and RADIUS server.
Thank you.
We don’t currently support passing IP address via RADIUS accounting, but it’s something we should be able to easily add. Also, do you know what attribute FreeRADIUS is using to alter the upload/download limits? We should also be able to add support for those. If you have a RADIUS exchange you can DM me, I can take a look.

We’ve actually already added support for this, and it will be out in the next release.
