Problem with WiFi connection HP printer

Just this morning I started tinkering with my new Alta AP6, for the moment I’ve only temporarily installed one in order to do some tests. For now everything is ok except the HP printer which no longer intends to connect to the network, or rather, the device connects and from the top manage page I see the device with its IP address. But it is impossible to use it, even a simple ping does not work. What could it be? Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks!

Matteo

Thanks for posting @matteomaz! I’ll DM you and we can take a look at what’s going on.

I’m having the same issue, the only way to fix the issue is to power off/on HP printer.

@MacGuru Out of curiosity, does the SSID you have the printer sitting on have Fast Roaming enabled or disabled?

Yes, you are right. Fast Roaming was enabled which is weird as I don’t remember turning it on, as I don’t need it for this environment. Once I turned it off, all my devices on the network disconnected and could not reconnect. I forgot (deleted) the SSID from the devices, and tried connecting but no go. I eventually had to physically disconnect/connect the AP and then was able to join the SSID. This should be looked at for sure.

Is there no way to reboot the AP from the UI?

@MacGuru Yes, if you click on the AP from the Network page, it’ll bring up the AP card then you select the settings, hold shift and you will see the reboot button. We have seen similar issues when making changes and are working on a resolution.

Great, thanks for the info.

That’s a good tip. I couldn’t find a way to reboot until now I’ve been power cycling the POE port from the switch.
