Predefine DHCP reserved IP

Hi Team,

I’m going to migrate to Route10. On my exisiting network there are bunch of DHCP reserved IPs

Is it possible to create a device with DHCP reserved IP before the device first connect to router?

You can reserve the IP range. Is the device set to static on the device itself? If so it will connect to its static IP because the IP it’s using won’t be in the DHCP pool. Once connected you can click the device and add the IP there. You can’t at this time set a range you just have to choose how many reserved IPs you want.

My devices are configured to use DHCP not static IP. Currently gateway controls the DHCP reserved IP and reserved IP are out of DHCP dynamic IP pool.

So if I migrate to Rout10, all the devices will get IP from dynamic IP pool when their DHCP renew. Then I could set the DHCP reserved IP of these devices on Alta Controller. After that I would have to force a DHCP renew on the device to get the proper reserved IP

It is a common feature that user can predefine a DHCP reserve IP. Not only Unifi, even TPLink Omada supports it
