Ping Issues - ICMP

Hello everyone,

Is anyone having issues with not being able to ping any local devices that are wireless? This also means that I cannot SSH into a local device either. I can only ping wired devices, but nothing wireless. I’ve already added a firewall rule to allow echo_request on LAN, but still no go.

VLAN1 Settings:

I’ve never had this issue before, only with Alta Labs hardware.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you.

Can’t say that I’ve seen that myself, but anything’s possible. Just to do a quick check, what’s the network type set to on the SSID? The network types can set some rules that would effect pinging devices on the WiFi so it should be a good place to look as well.

Noticed in your firewall rule that your ”Zone Out” is set to none, try change that to LAN or ANY depending on the use case for it.

Also like @jmszuch says the type of SSID affects how the traffic is handled by default.

Sorry for the late reply, we all got sick in my house… Feeling much better now.

Anywho; My God! @jmszuch You were right, I had it set to “Internet Only”; changing the network type worked. I can’t believe I overlooked that, and I manage so many networks haha.

Thank you so much!

You’re welcome! Glad you found it and you’re also feeling better! Sometimes it’s those little things that bite you. I know stuff like that has gotten me it’s fair share of times. Especially when it’s your personal stuff and you’re not looking at it super closely
