I would like my outdoor AP signals to reach next two houses near me! . what would be ideal placement? Facing towards next two houses or facing front of the house where it radiates both directions equally? My mount options are little limited only have access from the garage so it wont be installed very high. I marked the placement in red and green? what would be ideal location green or red?
Those locations are practically identical, and neither can be recommended as a primary backhaul between the homes. Mesh is a fallback solution provided to allow downstream clients to stay online even when the wire stops carrying data while PoE keeps the AP running. It is not a point-to-point solution, and your results may not reflect your expectations.
OK thank you. I will experiment and see how it goes. It is not for main backhaul it is just for temporary connection to connect a few devices from those homes when needed. I just want to signal to go as far as it can.
Referring to the radiation patterns from the AP6 Pro could also be helpful:
I’ll be the first one to admit that I’m not the best at reading radiation patterns, but I think I’m gathering that the signal should be pretty omnidirectional from the access point with a lttle drop off from behind the AP.
