Any idea why these items arent removed? Tried multiple reboots of the router, dhcp lease time is at 3600 but these haven’t existed (vms ive removed as well as their virtual nic) since maybe 4 pm PST yesterday yet they still appear in the device list.
So 192.168.1.23 finally dropped off, that was the first vm I shut down yesterday after migrating. Does lowering the dhcp lease time not release them from the route10? Either it seems like changing it has no effect on the route10 holding onto it (I also tried 60 seconds and it did nothing) or maybe another setting preventing the route10 from releasing it?
Next should be 192.168.1.22 dropping off, then 192.168.1.21 last.
Edit: .22 is gone now so it does seem to have a 24 hour placeholder for clients regardless of dhcp lease time
I am able to replicate this bug as well.
Do you see the leases in /cfg/dhcp.leases?
I dont have ssh setup to get into it and im not home at the moment. If you want i could invite you to poke around again, not sure how long it will be until the final ones drop off though.
For me, yes. It does appear to be directly tied to what is in the DHCP lease list.
To update everything did drop off after they hit the 24 hour mark. I experimented with lease times of 3600 and even 60, rebooting with those setting in place, but neither seemed to matter.
If I were to wager a guess, did you have the default lease configured initially? It sounds like these devices had a 24 hour lease, and that was very sticky across reboots plus any changes to the DHCP server.
I think that might be the case. I just tried changing it back to 60 and disconnected my phone, joined iot with a random mac and as soon as I disconnected the device went away. Yet last night we had guests over while it was on default and their devices still show up in the connected devices list.
Fwiw I thought i had the lease time changed to 21600 but between working on other things and these quirks I cant remember what it was at this point. Regardless theres still the issue of devices that aren’t connected showing up in the connected devices list.
