Option to disable 'Top Active Applications'

Hi there,
is there an option to disable the collection of ‘Top Active Application’ data?
To have Devices/Traffic data is perfectly fine, but out of data protection issues (EU) it should be possible to turn that off and ideally remove that section from the Dashboard?

Hint:
In Aruba Instant On, where I come from, it is possible and looks like this:

The only available option at the moment is to disable the DPI engine completely. Just keep in mind if you are using any filtering, that will also be disabled. It is under “Settings” under “Advanced” at the bottom of the page.

Thanks @rutman286 :+1:
Would it be worth considering this as as a Feature Request?
Simple toggle Applications on/off underneath DPI Engine…
This would be great!

It wouldn’t hurt to make it one.

All you need to do is disable the DPI engine.

DPI Engine is AP-only and when disabled, all that happens is:
Counting in Applications overview went from 36 down to 16.
Dashboard still showing Top 10 Applications section (and their live traffic).

My feeling: When disabled, AP applications and their are being ignored, but wired traffic still being DPI’d (S8-POE).

@TeWe The DPI data is only on the APs themselves. Switches do not perform nor store DPI data. If you want to delete it from the AP(s), you can ssh to each AP and rm /cfg/stats.sql, then reboot the AP.

Thanks Jeff :+1:
So what does the DPI Engine on/off toggle in the GUI (System - Advanced) do or trigger then?
To me, the difference between the setting (GUI) and rm /cfg/stats.sql (ssh) is totally unclear.
Saying this as when the setting (GUI) is disabled, applications still show including live throughput - as if it wasn’t really disabled.
Just the amount of applications is being reduced from 36 to 16 in my case.
But a disabled setting means something else to me…

Disabling the DPI Engine disables the DPI functionality in the AP’s, so from that point, until the DPI engine is re-enabled, they will stop tracking and storing DPI data into their local database.

Perfect explanation, thank you
Will try out the ssh option by times.

Nevertheless it would be nice to have the option to disable the whole thing entirely through the GUI for those who are not interested/not allowed to see this data (e.g. EU data protection laws).
Thanks for taking this into consideration for future releases.
