We have a 3000 sqft 1984 brick house and 1000 sqft in-law cottage with excellent coverage on the entire 3 acre plot. Family of 5 with just over 60 devices in our network including a NAS, home lab, computers, TVs, Speakers, lights, cameras, printers and gaming devices.
Originally we had a 2 AP6-Pro units connected to a single S8-POE switch using the ISPs provided router and had great coverage through a 1300 sqft home and perfect coverage for about 95% of the property. We recently moved to a larger 3000 sqft brick house with a 1000 sqft in law cottage with coverage on the entire plot. There are around 60 devices in our network including a NAS, home server lab, computers, TVs, Speakers, lights, cameras, printers and gaming devices.
We do not have any conduit run from the main house to the cottage so we added an AP6-PRO Outdoor which points toward the cottage and added in a Route 10 to replace the ISPs provided router. This work great and gave coverage through the entire yard. To ensure strong signal within the cottage we later added an AP6-PRO inside the cottage that is powered off a netgear POE switch that wasn’t being used.
I work from home and have teenagers in the house that are not complaining so I have been very happy with the Alta equipment. The only issue is the equipment has is my lazy cable management, but its hidden up in the rafters so out of sight out of mind.
