New access point hardware

Hey guys,
I’ve been holding off upgrading my APs in the hope i’d be able to use your upcoming Wifi 7 one’s (and hopefully switch), but work is offloading some Ruckus APs that are sorely tempting. Can I check when you’d be prepared to talk about the specs for them? To me, the AP6-Pros felt like an (understandable) compromise by missing a 2.5/10Gb port, hence my reluctance to pull the trigger on them.
Thanks!

Hi!

I would say that you can’t go wrong with free APs… you can, but at least it only costs time to debug ahahah. If you want to pull the trigger on Alta APs, I can definitely say that the AP6s (pro, outdoor, and base models) are more than capable of providing good Wi-Fi speed and coverage. I also think that they will release the 48-port switch with a lot of 2.5 Gbps ports before releasing a Wi-Fi 7 AP. Additionally, the AP 7 will have a 10 Gbps port, so they may also wait for a 10 Gbps RJ45 switch to provide the full power to their AP7 before releasing it.

I also know that they are using better components than other brands to provide better speed and coverage. I think it is a huge thing to consider when buying APs.

I don’t work for Alta Labs, I only love, test, review, and use them at work. So you will probably have better dates and everything from them.

I would also invite you to the Live event this afternoon. It could be a nice moment to ask your questions about the Wi-Fi 7 release date. They are always happy to answer all of our questions.

Have a nice one and I hope that it helps you
