I have no idea, why the update was done at all. I had deactivated the auto update function.
Since the update, the connection issues are occurring again (elgato keylight, printer…).
The devices are not on a different VLAN, as this simply does not work with the Alta .
In general, everything seems pretty unstable right now. A change such as “Disable Automatic Updates” causes all (!) devices to be disconnected.
Please can someone from the altalabs team quickly do a downgrade to 2.0j for me? This version was the first of all firmwares that run stable for me.
Thanks for the fast reaction! Downgrade to k and everything is back to normal.
The reason for the auto update was also clarified. Since I had installed a *-dirty dev version, the deactivation does not apply in this case.
Another Update:
Back on version 2.0m. Looks good for now. But there is an issue that config updates can cause disconnects. This should be fixed in n. Maybe this was also the cause of my problems…
Very well could be. More succinctly, certain config changes that shouldn’t affect WiFi radios would cause clients to disassociate and immediately reassociate; somewhat akin to changing the channels on an AP, so fairly small impact, but we’ll get it sorted in short order anyway.
I’m also glad we could identify, reproduce and fix that permissions issue in a span of what? 20 minutes?
