Low power for 2.4Ghz?

Hello,

While trying to extend coverage with 2.4Ghz for some external WiFi camera’s, I found it strange that, even with both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz on High Power, I Got a lot more signal on the 5Ghz band. As you can see in the screenshot below :

And that, even when selecting 20Mhz for the 2.4Ghz band, as to extend a little more the coverage.

Power Cycling the AP doesn’t change the result.

Did some of you see the same behaviour ? Could there be faulty antenna’s in my AP, or did I misconfigure/misunderstand something ?

Thank you !

Hmm, something that might help to look at is the EIRP for the 2.4GHz band on each AP. Should be able to see that by hovering over the 2.4GHz channel listed next to each AP in the Network tab.

Hello,

Yeah did that, 20dBm for the 2.4Ghz and 23 dBm for the 5Ghz.

That feels a bit low, at least compared to the EIRP on the AP6s I have:

Although that could be a difference due to region. I’m in the United States and I know there will be different power limits depending on where people are located in the world.

Hello,

Yeah, my question stemmed from that, I saw those value in the datasheet so I was expecting them.

So on your advice I checked the regulation in my country, and they are 20/23dBm EIRP for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz respectively.

So nothing I can’ do, it’s working as intended. Thank you For you help !
