woke up early early to my phone letting me the wifi was not working and no ping to route10.
All the Vlan’s were gone, IP had changed to 192.168.1.1 so internet work was not functioning.
Be this is cloud controlled this should not be a big deal. Tech just replace with what was there and see why it could have happened. Be back up and running very fast.
But that is not the case.
1st anyone know how to get your route10 config back from say 12-48 hours?
I need to know this quickly so we can move back to original equp.
If this ends much worse that it is now. I will be saying farewell to the alpha test.
As long as you have not deleted the Route10 from your site, your config is in the cloud and will be reinstalled once the Route10 comes back online (even after a factory reset of the device - just need to hit Set Up again). Have you reached out to support at all for help?
I went through that step several times and it was blank a new template every time.
On the third or forth time I had given up and brought up my old router. But left it online to see if anything would change. After 6 hours or more nothing had changed.
I just had to restart building everything again.
Also no we have been busy no contact with support at this time.
Which exact settings are you trying to reload after a factory reset? As long as you don’t delete the device from the portal, the settings for that device will not get deleted, and you can re-set it up even through a factory reset.
Exact settings? All of it.
Vlan’s, VPN’s, ip assignments
There is nothing in the the config. Basiclly the site name was the only thing that was something that we added that was there. Everything setting was just like a new router, Default everything.
Is there really no way for a user to backup and restore the config?
The cheapest walmart wifi router has backup and restore.
Why would you ask that? I am missing everything.
–side question. Where do you guys track bugs, I would like to know what is being worked on.
What are your release dates? The firmware has not changed since April. I would think with a ton of bugs you guys would be fixing and releasing like crazy.
You can back up and restore full configuration of a site, including all devices, if you are using a local controller, but this is not available in the cloud controller.
I think there is at least one simple misunderstanding here, though. If you add the Route10 to a cloud site and set up some VLANs and IP assignments, those settings are not lost simply by factory resetting the Route10. You can factory reset the Route10, and add it back to the same site, and all of the settings will be preserved. You can copy some settings from one site to another by using the site copy feature, which will copy the VLANs, WAN settings, and firewall rules (anything that is in site site settings), but not any device settings like VPN settings.
Can you direct me to the backup and restore info? I can only find mentions of it in Feature request or others asking if it exists. No responses to some of those.
We don’t have any documentation on it currently, but it’s a fairly straightforward implementation on the Settings->Sites->Advanced settings, within the local controller. Just hit Backup to download everything into a backup file, and use restore to bring everything back. Are you currently using a local controller? Hardware or software?
