Logged in with Google, now can't login on local controller

I logged in with my email via Google, but now I cannot seem to login with my local controller or do a forgot password to recover it. Is there any way to fix this?

The Alta cloud login and the local controller login are 2 separate accounts. I don’t think it’s actually possible to use Google to login to a local controller. You need to create another account locally.

I don’t know if Alta plan to merge the 2 eventually.

How do you make a local account?

There should be a “Don’t have an account? Sign Up” link under the login box.

The full process is shown on the YouTube setup video here -

There is, but it doesn’t email me for a new or forgotten password when I try either. Isn’t in my spam folder either.

I actually had a similar issue to start with. Turns out the local login didn’t like me using an email address with a + (plus) in it. The cloud login worked OK with a +.

Mine only has letters in it…

Only thing I can suggest would be to try a different email address (if you have one) just to make sure it’s not that. Otherwise I’m out of ideas, sorry :frowning:

Hopefully one of the Alta team will be able to pop in here and advise.

Ok, so I do have a valid email and can access from my LAN, but when I come through my reverse proxy domain I cannot login (it says I correct username or password) and the forgot password as well as login allow me to try but never email me. Any change there is a redirect block I can update for the altacontrol?

Found the answer in setting->systems->allowed origins. Put my host and domain in there and it works!

Maybe to be more helpful, put in a better error when logging in that the redirect isn’t allowed, rather than just an invalid password/username.
