Local web interface and DDNS?

So, local IP of my AP6 Pro is 192.168.0.3.
When entering this IP in a web browser, it comes up with:

So - what is this scary ddns URL?
And at home, I don’t wanna say say thank you to use “our” network as it’s mine

Can we please stop any unwanted dynamic DNS URL’s and landing pages if there’s nothing to configure there?

Funny enough - the URL for a S8-POE doesn’t change to DDNS but shows a never ending spinning wheel:

Puuuh.
Thoughts?

This is actually the splash page that users would see under certain circumstances such as Hotspot splash page or requesting network access when the access is disabled via a schedule. Given that these pages are dynamic, you’re seeing what you’re supposed to see.

If you switch that to HTTP, you should get a spinner like you see on the S8-PoE because this occurs when the device is managed and is by design. If the device was not managed yet, there would be a field for you to enter the hostname of your local controller (Appliance, Docker container, or LXD container).

Thanks for your quick reply Matt :+1:

I fully understand what you’re saying but I need to admit: I am not used to this “behavior” of a network device.
I am used to be presented with either a login page (not relevant here) or an informative page with device details (referring to e.g. Aruba Instant On).
But a simple “Thank you for using my network” feels a bit weird and an endless spinner suggests “trying to retrieve data” which doesn’t happen - kind of an error message…
Just my 2ct.

But I can live with that.
Thanks again for elaborating.
