I am trying to set up link aggregation to my Synology DS720+. I have the Synology set to Static Link Aggregation, and have ports 21 and 23 set as shown below. However, as soon as I plug in both cables, one goes straight to blocked.
Update - not sure it if is valid or cosmetic, but changing from MSTP to RSTP allowed both ports to show as up and not blocked.
My Synology is up and reachable, but it is worth noting that it no longer shows up in the “Devices” list, or on the Map.
You sure it’s Static LAG and not using LACP on the switch side?
No idea if the alta switches support LACP but I’d guess so as it’s the standard.
Good question. I have confirmed with the devs that at this time, only static link aggregation is supported. LACP has not been implemented yet.
Actually now that you mention it.
“Blocked” sounds more like STP issue
Yeah I am not knowledgeable enough in the STP differences to know why it worked, but changing from MSTP to RSTP fixed the problem.
