When I set up the router I noticed that L4 (eth5) didn’t work, no matter what I set the port to in the controller. I’ve tried multiple DAC cables without success.
Even a reboot didn’t bring the interface up.
I needed to ssh into the Route10 and manually (re)enable the interface.
ifconfig eth5 up
This definitely needs to be looked at…
I don’t experience this on mine. Are you on the latest firmware?
yes, I‘m on 1.3l
I am seeing the same issue, I have tried all the sfp+ dac cables I have and none are being recognized. I was able to get an sfp to the rj45 to work, but am limited to the 1g because of it.
I had this problem with mine too. The SFP+ DAC cable didn’t work but if I used a SFP module to RJ45, it was detected automatically.
I didn’t have other DAC SFP+ cables to test them, so I figured out that could be the cable. However, I use it to connect my pfSense with dual SFP+ ports to the Alta Switch 24 ports POE and it worked great.
Can you please insert the dac cable again, ssh into the router, bring up the interface and check if it works? Maybe it’s the same issue people in the other thread are experiencing.
I really don’t think it’s the brand of the dac cable that’s causing the issue here.
I have 2 of the cheapest ones from amazon and they both work.
