Several previous routers I have used (Google WiFi, OpenWRT, linux+dnsmasq) automatically configure an internal DNS domain, usually *.lan where hosts that broadcast their hostname to the DHCP server automatically get assigned a hostname.lan DNS name that resolves to any device using the router’s DNS forwarder. Is this something that Route10 support today? If not, could it please be added to the roadmap, as it makes device management on my network 100x easier. Ideally static DNS assignment should also be available on top of the automatic behavior as well.
The thing that I’m aware of is this feature in networks.
I use something more granular on pfSense to set a hostname for a specific user. Maybe I miss undrstand the feature, so I will also let others respond to that one ![]()
